Installation date availability:

All projects are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Therefore, after you purchase your flooring material we will offer you our first available installation date. Large projects may require a longer wait time because we will need back to back days in the schedule. Upon scheduling your installation we are happy to inform you that it will be the only installation for that day.

Delivery:

We offer a full service delivery, which includes hand carrying of the material into the customers work area. Additional charges apply, charges based on the amount of material required for your installation.

Job Site:

The building must be completely closed in with outside windows, doors, and thresholds in place. All "wet trades" like dry wall, painting, tile, masonry, and plaster should be completed before a laminate installation.

Carpeting should be installed after a laminate installation.

Air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems must be operable and at a stable temperature prior to the acclimation process, during the acclimation process, and after the installation. Note, the acclimation process in full detail is explained below. Also, during the installation electricity and water are necessary and will need to be provided.

Acclimation:

Laminate flooring material must be in the work area of the customer’s home no less than three days prior to an installation. This allows for proper acclimation time of the product. A laminate floor will stretch or shrink with changes in temperature and humidity. Once the material has had a chance to stabilize it is now considered dimensionally stable and ready to install. This is a very important part of the installation process and will contribute to the overall appearance upon completion of the project. Acclimate your material between 68 & 72 degrees farenhight. Proper storage of the laminate material is as follows: unopened store packaging, laid flat and level, stored in the room it is to be installed in or adjacent to said room. Please, do not store your laminate material in the basement if it is to be used on the first or second floor of your home. Also, please do not store your material in the garage. Neither of the aforementioned locations are suitable for acclimation, unless the material is being installed in the basement or the garage.

Furniture, Appliances, & Breakables:

Empty all cabinets, entertainment centers, bookcases, closets, etc. Remove draws from dressers in bedrooms please break down the bed and remove any personal items.

In kitchens please clear off the top of your refrigerator and remove excessive magnets. Remove pots and pans from the oven draw. Please tie up low hanging fixtures, such as the light over your dining room table, higher than six feet as a precaution.

Please disconnect and remove all electronic equipment such as televisions, stereos, computers, & telephones.

Move all breakables, lamps, vases, and decorative fragile wall hangings including mirrors, collectibles, antiques and other valuables.

Painting or staining of moldings must be done 24 hrs prior to an installation; molding must be dry before the installer can install it.

On the day of your installation:

An Adult over the age of 18 with the authority to make decisions about your installation must be present during the installation, and final inspection. It is against our policy to be in your home without an adult present.

Installers arrival time:

Depends on traffic and proximity please allow until the hour of 9:30 A.M. for the installer to arrive if your project is scheduled for the A.M. Installation times also vary depending on the size and scope of the project.

Things to keep in mind during the installation:

Many installations will cause inconvenience if you are living in the house.

Children must be kept away from the work area for their safety; we will be using saws and other potentially dangerous equipment.

The installer will need to enter and exit the home frequently pets must be kept in a safe room away from the noise and open doors. All birds must be caged.

The installation will be noisy due to hammering, sawing, and noisy equipment.

The adhesives used during the installation can produce strong orders, we suggest that infants and/or chemical sensitive residents not be present during that use of these products.

Cutting material, removing existing flooring, sub-floor preparation, and scope of project can create dust, which may infiltrate other parts of the house. We will attempt to keep dust to a minimum.

The installer will typically set up his workstation outside the home so as not to create additional dust. In inclement weather the installer may need to set up a workstation in a garage or other well-ventilated area that is sheltered. We can not cut the laminate material in a poorly ventilated area due to health concerns of our installers. Repetitive breathing of wood dust is a serious health risk and we treat it as such, please understand.

The seven P’s:

Proper prior planing prevents poor project performance. Please communicate any of your concerns to us. We want your project to go as smooth as possible. From time to time we run across an unforeseen circumstance that may prolong or delay an installation and add an additional cost. We do our best to address these conditions and resolve them prior to installation day. We ask that if you know about a potential problem bring it to the attention of our measurer and installer. If the installer notices a potential problem on installation day he will stop the installation and bring it to the attention of the homeowner and discuss possible solutions with them. Please understand that as a professional master endorsed laminate Installation Company our primary focus is to professionally render you a beautiful floor for years to come.
