Laminate Floor Care and Maintenance Tips

Laminate floor planks are extremely durable and carry various warranties for wear, stain, and fade properties, depending on which product is installed.

To realize the full potential of your new laminate floor please follow the recommendations below.

Do not walk on your new laminate floor for 12 hours after installation.

24 hours after installation laminate floor may be cleaned with a slightly damp mop or laminate floor spray cleaner.
Peaked joints are normal and indicate the proper amount glue was used. Once the moisture in the glue evaporates, the peaking disappears, usually within 2 to 6 weeks.
Any glue haze will disappear after a few moppings with clear water or a mixture of vinegar and water.
Above recommendations are for glue together floors only. Snap-lock floors may be enjoyed immediately after installation.
Clean felt protectors are essential to prevent your furniture from scratching your laminate floor.
Hard rubber casters or polyurethane casters are the best choice for rolling furniture. Plastic or steel casters may scratch laminate floors.
Objects falling and hitting the floor at a sharp angle may dent laminate floor.
Entry mats are a great way to keep dirt and grit outside, and your new laminate floor looking good inside.
Use laminate floor spray cleaner for routine cleaning. Acetone or nail polish remover may be used for stubborn spots.
Never use soap and water to clean laminate floor.
Never use wax or polish. Laminate floors stay shiny all by themselves.
Wrap left over planks in plastic and store flat on the floor under a bed or in a closet.
