Seriously, excellent results can be achieved by following the manufactures installation instructions and most importantly taking your time.

Q. What tools will I need?
A.
You will need a saw. A chop or compound miter saw is recommended, however, laminate plank flooring can be cut with a circular, or jig type, saw as long as you are cutting the plank with the decorative side facing down. You will also need a hammer, tape measure, utility knife. Additionally, there are specialty tools (i.e. tapping block, pry-bar) that are available through the flooring manufacture.

Q. Is a laminate floor better than a wood floor?
A.
Well in a nut shell, yes. If you measure in ways like durability, maintenance ease, and warranty, a typical wood floor will scratch much easier than a laminate floor. A laminate floor requires no special care other than an occasional damp mop. A wood floor may require occasional resurfacing especially in high traffic areas. With proper care a laminate floor will look new for at least the next 20 years - perhaps longer.

Q. Will my laminate floors stain?
A.
The standard answer from most all of the different laminate manufactures is no. Most products have a non-pours surface that will not allow a stain to stick to it. Most manufactures have a standard warranty against wear, stain and fading for up to fifteen years and in some cases longer.
